PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT
Tribal College Department Chair and Research Assistant with years of research experience in data storytelling and literacy, computational analytics, and equity centered curriculum development for Indigenous communities. My dedication to advancing inclusivity in STEM education is emphasized by my active participation in the NSF ADVANCE program.

As an educator, data scientist, and advocate for STEM equity within Tribal college communities, I have dedicated my career to bridging the gap in STEM education by implementing decolonized teaching practices and fostering computational literacy in the math classroom. With a passion for promoting data sovereignty and storytelling, my goal is to empower the tribal college community to reclaim our narrative and elevate Indigenous voices within the research community. Over the last 10 years, I have successfully guided over 100 tribal college students to excel in math courses by implementing innovative teaching practices that integrate Indigenous ways of knowing and cultural perspectives.

RESEARCH STATEMENT
My current research within the NSF ADVANCE program focuses on the study of metrics that critically assess the professional experiences of female faculty members at STEM institutions. Specifically, my work involves measuring the impact of bias intervention programs and studying the effectiveness of Faculty Advocacy Programs as integral components of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

This multifaceted approach aligns with my commitment to fostering a more equitable and supportive environment within academia. By contributing to the advancement of knowledge in this crucial area, I aim to address the unique challenges faced by underrepresented groups and pave the way for positive change in the academic landscape.
